December 7, 2000

Members Present: RE. Amrhein, Jackie Harris, Jr., Theodore Hansen, Gene Bruner, Jessie Spears, Louise Horton, Daniel Davis, Terry Womack, Brent Kelley, Superintendent Jerry Boudreaux.

The regular meeting of the Zachary Community School Board was held on December 7, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. at the Zachary Community School Board building.

The invocation was given by Mr. Gene Bruner and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mrs. Terry Womack.

A motion to accept the minutes of the November 23 and 27, 2000 was made by Mr. Hansen and seconded by Mr. Horton.

VOTE: Passes, 9 yeas

Mr. Bruner made a motion to name The Plainsman News of Zachary as its Official Journal seconded by Mr. Davis.

VOTE: Passed, 9 yeas

Mr. Bruner made a motion to name The Bank of Zachary as its fiscal agent seconded by Mr. Harris,

VOTE: Passed, 9 yeas

Mr. Lonny Myles, Board Attorney, discussed the following items:

1.	Election of school board members he will contact East Baton Rouge Parish Registrar of Voters, Mr. Nat Bankston regarding the April 7, 2001 election
2.	Special election to seek voter approved for tax transfer to fund Zachary Community School Board
3.	Discussed a determination at the next meeting re: date of election, filing fees, paper work, etc.

The members discussed the Board Policy Manual. Mr. Hansen moved that Mr. Boudreaux contact Mr. James Prescott and solicit his help in developing the manual Motion seconded by Mr. Jesse Spears.

VOTE: Passed, 9 yeas

A motion by Mr. Bruner to authorize Mr. Spears and Mr. Boudreaux to contact State Representative Kip Holden to amend House Bill 1027. Second by Mr. Hansen.

VOTE: Passed, 9 yeas
