EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONNEL

The Policy Manual Committee met at the Zachary School Board Office at 3:30 p. m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2001.

Much discussion centered around the relationship of the superintendent, principals, and teachers in the hiring or placement of teachers and principals particularly the idea of teachers being consulted in the hiring of principals. It was felt that politics and subjectivity might become too involved in the process.

EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS

The requirement of regular tenured teachers to sign contracts at intervals was questioned.

COMPENSATION

(Experience Credit)

The committee suggested that we amend the Experience Credit section to include private and parochial experience as credit in compensating teachers who transfer to the Zachary School System.
