Zachary School Board Minutes
October 25, 2001

Members Present: Mrs. Coleman, Mrs. Horton, Mrs. Kimmell, Dr. Leggett, Mr. Moore, Mrs. Womack and Dr. Brady.
The regular meeting of the Zachary Community School Board was held on October 25, 2001 at the Zachary Community School Board Office.
The Invocation was given by Mrs. Kimmell. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mrs. Womack.
Roll was taken: 5 Present, 4 Absent (Mrs. Young, Mr. Snowden, Mr. Davis and Mr. Moore) Mr. Moore arrived at 7:03.
Mrs. Womack made the motion to approve the minutes of October 11, 2001 and Mrs. Horton seconded it.

Lonny Myles gave the Litigation Report. He said that everything was moving alone good. He told the board that they did move some dates back but the date was still set for February 19, 2001.
Dr. Brady gave his Superintendent Report. He told the board that he has been meeting with Dr. Culbertson this week and that they have an appointment with Langley for Friday. Dr. Brady said that while he was at the Department of Education, he would pick up some handbooks on school board accounting.
Dr. Leggett told the board that they have 14 golf teams and 47 hole sponsors for the Charity Golf Scramble at Magnolia Creek Golf Course. Dr. Leggett mentioned that the reception from the community has been outstanding and the community is ready to help in anyway that they can. He thanked Mr. Henry Martinez from Zachary Printing and Office Supply for making the Cole sponsorship signs. He told the board that they would have more fund raising events coming up throughout the year.
Mrs. Coleman told the board that during the "Street Sweep" we raised $1500.86. Even though the weather was terrible and we only stayed out for 1 hour and 10 minutes, we did good! Mrs. Coleman also told the board to be thinking about being in the Zachary Christmas Parade. She thought that the school board members should walk with a banner and wear shirts that had Zachary Community School Board printed on-them.
Mr. Moore thanked Mrs. Coleman for all of the hard work that she put into the "Street Sweep" and that he was doing a Spaghetti Dinner on November 8, 2001. He said that the dinner would sell for $5.00 a plate and that it would be taken place from 11 till 1 at the Zachary Police Complex.
Dr. Leggett told the board that the November 15 Community Meeting would be at 7:00 P.M. at Zachary High School. He wanted Judge Lonny Myles to speak and answer questions from the people of the community. He said that they would have it advertise in the Plainsman and in the Morning Advocate. Dr. Leggett said that he would talk more about it at next board meeting.
Next board meeting the board wanted to have on the agenda about the November 15 Community Meeting. Also Mr. Moore will talked about his Spaghetti Dinner Fund Raiser and Danny Davis will give us a Budget Report.
Mrs. Coleman made the motion to adjourn and Mrs. Horton seconded it.
