Zachary School Board Minutes
November 8, 2001
7:00 P.M.
Members Present: Mrs. Coleman, Mrs. Horton, Mrs. Kimmell, Dr. Leggett, Mr. Moore, Mrs. Womack and Dr. Brady.
The regular meeting of the Zachary Community School Board was held on November 8, 2001 at the Zachary Community School Board Office.
The Invocation was given by Mr. Moore. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mrs. Womack
Roll was taken: 6 Present, 3 Absent ( Mrs. Young, Mr. Davis & Mr. Snowden)
Mrs. Womack made the motion to approve the minutes of October 25, 2001 and Mrs. Kimmell seconded it.

Dr. Brady gave his Superintendent Report. He told the board that he has been in Baton Rouge all this week attending the Deposition Hearings and on November 14 will be his turn to speak at the hearings. He told the board that both Dr. Rankin and Dr. Culbertson was busy getting information together for their reports.
Dr. Leggett spoke to the board about the fund raisers. We raised a total of $20,240.00 at the Charity Golf Scramble at Magnolia Creek Golf Course. He praised Linda Coleman and Chip Moore for the outstanding Spaghetti Dinner that was held today. Chip Moore told the board that he received $1363.00 for the dinners and $272.13 he would take for expenses. Mark Johnson showed the board a T-Shirt with an American Flag on it to sell for our next fund raiser. The board liked the idea and wanted on the back of the T-Shirts to have a slogan,"Support Zachary Schools". The board wanted to wear the T-Shirts to the Zachary School Board Community Meeting on November 15; 2001. The board also discussed having another street sweep on November 17, 2001. Chip Moore will give out more details on the street sweep. Mayor Womack told the board that we could put mail in their mail outs anytime that we wanted to and he was thinking about doing fried turkeys as a fund raiser.
Mrs. Womack made the motion to make a draft of a letter, explaining about the Zachary Community School Board and why we need money for the next board meeting. Mrs. Coleman seconded it.

Dr. Leggett went over with the board about the Zachary School Board Community meeting that will be held on November 15, 2001. He told the board that if they wanted to speak they could do so and this was the time for the public to ask questions. He said that we would get flyers out and advertise in the newspapers. He said that this meeting was to go over with the public the progress toward the formation of an independent school district and the work that still needs to be done.
Next board meeting the board wanted to have on the agenda: fund raisers, approve the rough draft of the letter that will go out to the public on who we are and why we need money and Dr. Leggett wanted to have an Executive Session during this meeting.
Mrs. Coleman made the motion to adjourn and Mrs. Womack seconded it.
