Members Present: Mr. Davis, Mrs. Horton, Mrs. Kimmell, Dr. Leggett, Mr. Moore, Mr. Snowden, Mrs. Womack and Mrs. Young

The special meeting of the Zachary School Board was held on August 6, 2002 at the Zachary School Board office.

The meeting was called to order by Dr. Hal Leggett. The Invocation was given by Jesse Spears and the Pledge Of Allegiance was led by Danny Davis.

Roll was taken: 7 Present 2 Absent ( Mrs. Coleman & Mr. Snowden) Mr. Snowden arrived at 7:11 PM.

Dr. Hal Leggett told the board that he would like a decision on the new School, Superintendent at the August 8 School Board Meeting and also the Community would like to know who the new Superintendent will be. Dr. Leggett told the board that they could not discuss the assessment of the four candidates in a closed door session, that John Beck worked on. Lonny Myles told the board that any document used by a public body is a public record unless exempted by state law.

Dr. Leggett told the board that we are here tonight to determine how we are going to select a Superintendent. After discussion from the board they decided to eliminate two candidates, then take public comment and vote.

Mr. Moore made the motion to adjourn and Mrs. Young seconded it. VOTE 8 YEAS O/NAYS I Absent
