Minutes of the Zachary Community School Board Special Meeting

 August 13, 2002

Members Present: Mrs. Coleman, Mr. Davis, Mrs. Horton, Mrs. Kim ell, Mr. Leggett, Mrs. Snowden, Mrs. Womack, Mrs. Young and Mr. Drake

The Special Meeting of the Zachary School Board was held on August 14, 2002 at the Zachary School Board Office.

The meeting was called to order by Dr. Hal Leggett, President. The Invocation was led by Mr. Kimmell and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mrs. Coleman.

Roll was taken: 8 Present       1 Absent (Mr. Moore)

Dr. Hal Leggett told the board that he has talked to Warren Drake and Mrs. Kimmel], Mrs. Horton and Mr. Davis has met with Mr. Drake about his contract. They have talked to Lonny and he has a rough draft of a contract tonight

The School Board Attorney, Lonny Myles went over the draft contract with the board. Lonny explained to the board that this was a rough draft and he used East Baton Rouge, West Feliciana and St. Tammy Parishes as a guideline. The board wanted to look more into the Vacation, Annual Leave, Auto Expense and Disability Insurance. Mrs. Kimmell said that she would look into this and get back with Mr. Myles. They hope that by the August 22, 2002, regular board meeting they would have the contract ready for review.

Mrs. Young told the board that she decided that she would run in the School Board Election, also Mrs. Coleman, Mrs. Kimmell and Mr. Davis noted that they would run.

Mr. John Taylor announced that the Friends of Zachary would hold an Open House at the Bank of Zachary, between 2 to 4 PM, Sunday, August 25, 2002. This will be for the public to meet Warren Drake and his family.
