Zachary School Board Minutes

October 27, 2005

The regular meeting of the Zachary Community School Board was held on October 27, 2005 at 4700 Main Street.

The invocation was given by Mrs. Young.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Swilley.

ROLL:  Mrs. Coleman, Mrs. Young, Mr. Swilley, Mrs. Kimmell, Mr. Snowden, and Mr. Dayton.   3 ABSENT (Mr. Davis, Mrs. Horton & Mr. Benda)

MINUTES FOR OCTOBER 13, 2005

Mr. Dayton moved to approve the minutes for October 13, 2005 and Mrs. Kimmell seconded the motion.

VOTE:  6 YEAS   0 NAYS   0 ABSENT

PUBLIC COMMENT –There was none.

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT

Mr. Drake reported that the Homecoming Parade will be Friday, Oct. 28, at 3PM and the game will be at 7PM.  The Zachary schools will receive their school-performance scores in the state accountability program on Tuesday, November 1.  This will be the first school performance scores for the Zachary School System.

PERSONNEL MATTERS

There was none.

SCHOOL CALENDAR

Mr. Snowden moved to approve the new School Calendar to make up days that were missed as a result of hurricanes Katrina & Rita. Mrs. Kimmell seconded the motion.

VOTE:  6 YEAS   0 NAYS   3 ABSENT     (SEE ATTACHED CALENDAR)

PUPIL PROGRESSION PLAN

Mr. Swilley moved to approve the Pupil Progression Plan and Mrs. Young seconded the motion.

VOTE:  6 YEAS   0 NAYS   3 ABSENT

COMMITTEE MEETINGS

Executive Committee Meeting @ 6:00PM on 11-3-05 @ Old Bank Building

Building Facilities Committee Meeting to be scheduled.
