The regular meeting of the Zachary Community School Board was held on October 12, 2006 at 4700 Main Street.
The invocation was led by Mr. Dayton.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mrs. Young.
ROLL: Mr. Dayton, Mrs. Young, Mrs. Kimmell, Mr. Snowden, Mr. Owen, Mr. Benda, and Mrs. Coleman.

APPROVAL OF SEPTEMBER 28, 2006
Mrs. Coleman moved to approve the minutes for the meeting held on September 28, 2006 and Mr. Snowden seconded the motion. VOTE: 7 YEAS 0 NAYS 2 ABSENT
PUBLIC COMMENT – There was none.
SUPERINTENDENT REPORT
Mr. Drake reported that National School Bus Safety Week will be observed October 15-21, 2006. All schools will be asked to recognize their bus drivers. Dr. Carol Price, ZHS Math Teacher, has been named Regional Teacher of the Year and will be State Finalist in the 2007 Louisiana Teacher of the Year Awards Program. The ZHS Freshman Academy Retreat will be held on Friday, October 13, 2006. The annual ZHS Homecoming Parade will be on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 3:00 p.m.
PERSONNEL MATTERS
Mrs. Kimmell moved to approve Personnel Matters and Mr. Benda seconded the motion.

COMMUNICATIONS AND GRAPHIC DESIGN SPECIALIST/WEBMASTER JOB DESCRIPTION & SALARY SCHEDULE
Mr. Snowden moved to approve the Communications and Graphic Design Specialist/Webmaster Job Description and Salary Schedule and Mrs. Coleman seconded the motion.
VOTE: 7 YEAS 0 NAYS 2 ABSENT
APPROVAL OF ADVERTISEMENT FOR FOOD ITEM BIDS
Mrs. Young moved to approve advertisement for food item bids for the January 1 – May 31, 2007 time period and Mrs. Coleman seconded the motion.
