ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

JULY 7, 2011

The special board meeting of the Zachary Community School Board was held on July 7, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, La.

The invocation was led by Mr. Mackie.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mrs. Rogers.

ROLL CALL:  Mrs. Samuel, Mrs. Young, Mr. Swilley, Mr. Mackie, Mr. Owen, Mrs. Rogers, Mr. Kelley, and Mr. Dykes.    1 Absent (Mr. Dayton)

MINUTES FROM JUNE 23, 2011

Mr. Swilley moved to approve the minutes from the June 23, 2011, board meeting and Mr. Kelley seconded the motion. 

There was no public comment.

VOTE:   8 YEAS    0 NAYS    1 ABSENT

SALE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS

Mrs. Young moved to approve a resolution providing for the opening and tabulation of the sealed and electronic bids received for the purchase of $15,000,000 of General Obligation School Bonds, Series 2011, of the Zachary Community School District No. 1, State of Louisiana approving the Official Notice of Bond Sale and Official Statement in connection therewith and Mr. Swilley seconded the motion.     (See Attached)

There was no public comment.

VOTE:  8 YEAS   0 NAYS   1 ABSENT

Mr. Kelley moved to approve a resolution accepting the lowest and best bid received for the purchase of Fifteen Million Dollars ($15,000,000) of General Obligation School Bonds, Series 2011, of the Zachary Community, of the Zachary Community District No. 1, State of Louisiana and providing for other matters in connection therewith and Mrs. Rogers seconded the motion.           (See Attached)

VOTE:  8 YEAS   0 NAYS   1 ABSENT

Mr. Swilley moved to approve a resolution authorizing the incurring of debt and issuance of Fifteen Million Dollars ($15,000,000) of General Obligation School Bonds, Series 2011, of Zachary Community  School District No. 1, State of Louisiana; prescribing the form, terms and conditions of said Bonds; designating the date, denomination and place of payment of said Bonds; providing for the payment thereof in principal and interest; and providing for other matters in connection therewith and Mr. Dykes seconded the motion. ADVERTISE FOR BID FOR DISHWASHER AT ZACHARY HIGH SCHOOL

Mr. Kelley moved to advertise for bid for a dishwasher at Zachary High School and Mr. Swilley seconded the motion.

Policies, Personnel Matters, Local Evaluation, Bids for First and Second Grade School

There will be a Policy Committee Meeting on July 28, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at School Board Office.
