ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 8, 2011
The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on September 8, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana.
The invocation was led by Mr. Donnie Dykes.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Carl Kelley.
ROLL CALL: Mrs. Samuel, Mrs. Young, Mr. Swilley, Mr. Mackie, Mr. Owen, Mrs. Rogers, Mr. Kelley, Mr. Dykes and Mr. Dayton.
MINUTES FROM AUGUST 25, 2011
Mrs. Young moved to approve the minutes from the August 25, 2011 meeting. Mr. Mackie seconded the motion.

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT
Mr. Drake reported that the ground breaking for the First and Second Grade School will be on September 15, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. On Friday night the Zachary High School Football team will play Thibodeaux. On September 22, 2011, the Child Nutrition Program will be on NBC Channel 33 with Jennifer Crockett at Copper Mill Elementary School. Copper Mill Elementary School will release 100 balloons tomorrow in tribute of 9/11. Jennifer Marangos, Principal at Zachary Elementary, will be presenting at the Intel Schools of Distinction Event in Washington, D.C. on Monday, September 19, 2011.
LOUISIANA AEROSPACE CATALYST EXPERIENCE FOR STUDENTS (LaACES)
WALLOPS BALLOON EXPERIENCE FOR EDUCATORS (WBEE) IN PALESTINE, TEXAS
Mr. Mark Arseneault presented a Power Point on the Louisiana Aerospace Catalyst Experience for Students and Wallops Balloon Experience for Educators.
SWEARING IN JROTC CADETS
Mr. Drake and Mrs. Samuel swore in the JROTC Cadets at Zachary High School. Each Cadet was presented a certificate.
APPOINT ARCHITECT FOR ZACHARY ELEMENTARY
Mr. Swilley moved to appoint Henry Carville, of Bani, Carville and Brown, as the Architect for the Zachary Elementary School renovation and addition. Mr. Dayton seconded the motion.

Mrs. Young moved to approve the Policy, File: IDFAB - Sports Injury Management and Concussions. Mr. Kelley seconded the motion.
