ZACHARY COMMUNTIY SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

March 28, 2012

 

The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on March 28, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at

3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana.

 

The Invocation was led by Mr. Dayton.

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Swilley.

 

ROLL CALL:  Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. Young, Mr. Swilley, Mr. Mackie, Mr. Owen, and Mr. Dayton.

                          3 Absent (Mrs. Samuel, Mr. Kelley, and Mr. Dykes)

 

MINUTES FROM MARCH 22, 2012

 

Mr. Mackie moved to approve the minutes from March 22, 2012 meeting.  Mr. Swilley seconded the motion.

 

There was no public comment.

AdvancED ORAL EXIT REPORT

 

Mr. Drake introduced the AdvancEd Team:  Lori Harper; Collene Charles; Mary Beth Huber; and Sandra Sherman.  Also, Mr. Drake introduced Dr. Wayne Strain as AdvancEd Regional Director.  Shandra Sherman, team leader of the AdvancED, presented the AdvancED Oral Exit Report.  Mrs. Sherman reported that we meet all of the standards and are engaged in continuous improvement.  We manage time well and have excellent resources.  The AdvancED rates the Zachary Community School District as Highly Functional.  Mr. Sherman told the board that it is very rare to rate a school district as Highly Functional.  The AdvancED Team will send their findings to the Accreditation Commission and we will receive a written report in thirty days.  Dr. Wayne Strain told the board that in 2013-2014, a new program would be coming out, “Moving to Excellences’.  Dr. Strain challenged the Zachary Community School District to apply.
