ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

October 7, 2013 Special Board Meeting

 

The Zachary Community Special School Board Meeting was held on October 7, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana.

 

The Invocation was led by Mr. Dayton.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mrs. Rogers.

 

ROLL CALL:  Mrs. Young, Mr. Swilley,  Mrs. Samuel, Mr. Mackie,  Mr. Owen, Mrs. Rogers, Mr. Smith, and  Mr. Dayton.   1 Absent  (Mr. Dykes)

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

 

Mrs. Samuel moved to approve the minutes from September 26, 2013 Board Meeting and September 26, 2013 Work Session.  Mr. Dayton seconded the motion. 

There was no public comment.

 

VOTE:    9 YEAS   0 NAYS  1 ABSENT

 

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT

 

Mr. Devillier reported that the schools and school board office will be closed for the Fall Holiday on Monday, October 14, 2013.  On October 8, 2013 the Zachary High School Choir will have a concert at the school at 7:00 p.m.  The Chamber of Commerce banquet will be on October 17, 2013 at 5:45 p.m., at St. John Catholic Church.

 

ADOPT THE MILLAGE RATE(S)

 

Mr. Swilley moved to adopt the Resolution on the Millage Rates as read.  Mrs. Samuel seconded the motion.  (See Attached)

There was no public comment.

 

ROLL CALL VOTE:     Mrs. Young, Yea; Mr. Swilley, Yea; Mrs. Samuel, Yea; Mr. Mackie, Yea; Mr. Owen, Yea; Mrs. Rogers, Yea; Mr. Smith, Yea; and Mr. Dayton, Yea.

 

8 YEAS  0 NAYS  1 ABSENT.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

 

Finance Committee Meeting for October 1, 2013 had to be canceled, due to quorum was not met.
