ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

April 15, 2014 Board Meeting

The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on April 15, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana.

The Invocation was led by Mrs. Samuel.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Owen.

ROLL CALL:  Mr. Dayton, Mrs. Samuel, Mr. Mackie, Mr. Owen, Mrs. Rogers, and Mrs. Avants. 

                         3 ABSENT   (Mrs. Young, Mr. Swilley and Mr. Smith)

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Mrs. Rogers moved to approve the minutes from March 18, 2014 Work Session, March 18, 2014 Board Meeting, and April 1, 2014 Work Shop.  Mr. Mackie seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT

Mr. Devillier reported that Phase 2 Testing is finished.  We have collected $13, 513.40 for the Marcell Franklin Family.  Spring Break will begin on April 18 - 25, 2014.  The Student Update Packet must be returned by Thursday, April 17, 2014.  On April 12, 2014 the Athletic Department will have a Golf Tournament at Copper Mill.  Last Day for Seniors will be on May 6, 2014.  Graduation will be on May 19, 2014 at Bethany World Prayer Center at 6:30 p.m.  On May 14, 2014 the ZES Orchestra Concerts will be at ZHS Performing Arts Center 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Zachary Elementary School - Tafari Beard, Jr.

Zachary High School - Jacqueline Odom

Zachary Career and Technical School - Anthony Tulagan

The board presented each student with a plaque.

There was none.

COMMITTEE MEETINGS

Finance Committee will meet on April 29, 2014 at 5:30 p.m.

AGENDA ITEMS FOR MAY 6, 2014 WORK SHOP/COMMITTEE MEETING

Mr. Owen moved to change the May 6, 2014 Work Shop/Committee Meeting to a Work Session and Board Meeting.  Mrs. Samuel seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.
