August 19, 2014 Board Meeting
The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on August 19, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana.
The Invocation was led by Mrs. Samuel.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Mackie.
ROLL CALL: Mr. Dayton, Mrs. Young, Mr. Swilley, Mrs. Samuel, Mr. Mackie, Mr. Owen, and Mrs. Avants. 1 ABSENT (Mrs. Rogers)
Mrs. Rogers arrived at 7:07 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mr. Owen moved to approve the July 15, 2014 Work Session Minutes, July 15, 2014 Board Meeting Minutes, and August 5, 2014 Work Shop/Committee Meeting Minutes. Mr. Mackie seconded the motion.

APPOINTMENT OF SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER DISTRICT 7
Mr. Dayton introduced to the board Mrs. Beth Kimmell. Mrs. Kimmell will be taking the place of Boyce Smith - District 7. Mr. Smith resigned as school board members on August 12, 2014. Mr. Owen moved to approve Mrs. Beth Kimmell as School Board Member for District 7. Mrs. Avants seconded the motion.

SWEARING IN SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER DISTRICT 7
Mrs. Beth Kimmell was sworn in as District 7 Board Member by Board Attorney Ricky McDavid.
Mr. Devillier and the board member welcomed Mrs. Kimmell.

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT
Mr. Devillier reported that we will be having Round 2 of Principal interviews on August 20 and August 21, 2014. On August 21, 2014 the Zachary High School Football Team will play Parkview Fall Scrimmage at 6:00 p.m. at Zachary High School. On August 26, 2014 we will have Rachel's Challenge Leadership Committee Meeting at the school board office at 4:30 p.m. On Friday August 29, 2014 the Football Jamboree will take place at 7:00 p.m. Zachary High School will play West Feliciana. Rachel's Challenge will be held on September 8, 2014, for Copper Mill Elementary, Northwestern Middle School and Zachary High School. On September 9, 2014, Rollins Place Elementary and Zachary Elementary School will attend. We will have Adult/Community Rachel's Challenge Event. Alexis Granville, senior at Zachary Career and Technical Center, won first place in the "Baton Rouge Idol" competition held in Gonzales this past Saturday. Alexis will now go on to audition for the American Idol judges in New Orleans.
RECOGNITION OF NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFIED TEACHER
The board recognized Peyton Gunnell as a National Board Certified Teacher. The board presented her with a certificate.
CAFETERIA PLAN (125)
Mrs. Samuel moved to approve the Cafeteria Plan (125). Mrs. Rogers seconded the motion.

CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL LEGAL SERVICE
Mr. Owen moved to approve the contract for Professional Legal Service. Mr. Swilley seconded the motion.

RESOLUTION - MUNICIPALITIES CONTINUING DISCLOSURE COOPERATIVE INITIATIVE
Mrs. Young moved to approve the Resolution - Municipalities Continuing Disclosure Cooperative Initiative. Mr. Mackie seconded the motion.

LOCAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH CITY OF ZACHARY
Mrs. Samuel moved to approve the Local Services Agreement with City of Zachary. Mr. Swilley seconded the motion.

Mrs. Rogers seconded the motion.
