MARCH 3, 2015
The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on March 3, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the school board office on 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana.
The Invocation was led by Mrs. Young.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mrs. Grice.
ROLL CALL: Mr. Owen, Mrs. Young, Mrs. Fuselier, Mr. Hughes, Mrs. Grice, Mrs. Vessel, Mrs. Kimmell, Mrs. Watkins, and Mr. Dayton. 0 ABSENT
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mrs. Young moved to approve the minutes of the January 29, 2015 Operations Committee, February 3, 2015 Work Session, and February 3, 2015 Board Meeting. Mr. Dayton seconded the motion.

UPDATE
Mr. Owen announced that Pre-K Registration is from March 3 -6, 2015 and you must be 4 years old by September 30, 2015. We will have a Strategic Planning Meeting at the School Board Office at 5:00 p.m. on March 17, 2015, followed by a Work Shop/Committee Meeting at 6:00 p.m. Phase 1 Testing will start on March 16-20, 2015. Kindergarten Roundup will take place at Northwestern Elementary on March 26, 2014. Sales Tax Election Day will be on March 28, 2015.
RECOGNITION OF Z- STAR STUDENTS
The board recognized Mrs. Lowery's Z-Star class from Zachary High School. Mrs. Lowery told the board that the Z-Star Class is made up of students that want to become teachers.
RECOGNITION OF ZHS ALL-STATE JAZZ ENSEMBLE MEMBER
The board recognized the ZHS All-State Jazz Ensemble Student, Gracie Ellerbee. The board presented Gracie with a certificate.
RECOGNITION OF ZHS ALL -DISTRICT HONOR BAND PARTICIPANTS
The board recognized the ZHS All-District Honor Band Students, Norman Cook and Ryan Schaefer. The board presented Norman and Ryan with a certificate.
RECOGNITION OF ZHS ALL-PARISH HONOR BAND
The board recognized the ZHS All-Parish Honor Band Students. The board presented each one with a certificate.
ACT 570 HEARING OFFICER LIST
Mrs. Kimmell moved to approve ACT 570 Hearing Officer List. Mr. Hughes seconded the motion. (See Attached)

ADVERTISING FOR FOOD SERVICE AND SUPPLY BIDS
Mrs. Grice moved to approve the advertising for the 2015-2016 Food Service and Supply Bids. Mrs. Fuselier seconded the motion.

SALES TAX PROPOSITION - TO CONSIDER AND TAKE ACTION WITH RESPECT TO ANNOUNCING THAT THE ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD, ACTING AS THE GOVERNING AUTHORITY OF THE ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL SYSTEM (THE "DISTRICT"), PLANS TO ADOPT AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY OF SAID SALES AND USE TAX PURSUANT TO SAID VOTER AUTHORIZATION AT ITS MEETING ON TUESDAY, APRIL 21, 2015 AT 7:00 P.M. AT THE SCHOOL BOARD OFFICE, 3755 CHURCH STREET, ZACHARY, LOUISIANA

Mr. Robertson read the following notice:
Notice is hereby given that in the event the voters approve the levy of a 1% sales and use tax at the March 28, 2015 election, the Zachary Community School Board, acting as the governing authority of the Zachary Community School System (the "District"), plans to adopt an ordinance providing for the levy of 3/4 of 1% sales and use tax pursuant to said voter authorization, at its meeting on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the School Board Office, 3755 Church Street, Zachary , Louisiana.
Mrs. Vessel made the motion to accept the reading of the notice. Mr. Dayton seconded the motion.

RENOVATION OF ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOLS TRACK AND MULTIPURPOSE FIELD
Mrs. Kimmell moved to approve the budget of $975,000.00 for the renovation of Zachary Community Schools Track and Multipurpose Field. Mr. Dayton seconded the motion.

CHANGE DATE OF WORK SESSION AND BOARD MEETING FOR MAY 19, 2015 TO MAY 5, 2015
Mr. Owen told the board that the Work Session and Board Meeting that was scheduled for May 19, 2015 will be changed to May 5, 2015. Graduation will be held on May 19, 2015.
