May 17, 2016
The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on May 17, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana.
The Invocation was led by Mr. Hughes.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Owen.
ROLL CALL: Mrs. Kimmell, Mrs. Fuselier, Mr. Hughes, Mrs. Grice, Mr. Owen, Mrs. Vessel, Mrs. Watkins, and Mr. Dayton.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mr. Owen moved to approve the minutes for April 19, 2016 Work Session, April 19, 2016 Board Meeting and May 9, 2016 Mini Board Retreat. Mr. Dayton seconded the motion.

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT
Mr. Devillier thanked everyone for coming and reported that the last day of school is Wednesday, May 18, 2016. Mr. Devillier announced upcoming dates. (See Attached)

RECOGNITION OF GIRLS OUTDOOR 5A STATE CHAMPIONS TRACK TEAM
The board presented certificates to the Girls Outdoor 5A State Champions Track Team: Kiara Bethley, Kayla Clifton, A’Neseya Dunn, Frankie Griffin, Nique Griffin, Indya Jackson, Kristian Jackson, Janie O’Connor, and Dakota Williams. Coaches: Chris Carrier, Adam Carlisle, Kendall Cleveland, Jason Davis, Chet Delee, Kelvin Kelly and Johnny Nagle
RECOGNITION OF THE 2016 RETIREES
The board presented plaques to the 2016 Retirees: Mary Christie Aguillard, Nancy Forbes, Diane Nunnery and Paula Swilley.
RECOGNITION OF ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT OUTSTANDING SUPPORT EMPLOYEES OF 2016
The board presented plaques to the Outstanding School Support Employees for 2016:
Zachary Early Learning Center – Roslyn Royal, Northwestern Elementary – Byrd Lee Carter,
Rollins Place Elementary – Lauren Baudoin, Zachary Elementary – Maude Landrum, Copper Mill Elementary – Teri Cunningham, Northwestern Middle - Rick Fountain, Zachary High School – Karen Neal, Main Office – Cindy Todd, Maintenance – Willie Parker.
RECOGNITION OF ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT SUBSTITUTE EMPLOYEES OF 2016

EMPLOYEE BENEFIT CONSULTING SERVICES RFP
Mr. Hughes moved to approve Mr. Devillier to continue negotiations with Bancorp South Insurance Services, Inc. as the Employee Benefit Consulting Services Company. Mrs. Vessel seconded the motion.

Mrs. Vessel moved to approve “The Advocate” as the 2016-2017 Official Journal. This will start on July 1, 2016 – June 30, 2017. They will publish all the Zachary Community School Board’s official proceedings at the rate of 33 cents per agate line of space occupied by each insertion as provided. Mrs. Watkins seconded the motion. (See Attached)

Mrs. Watkins moved to advertise the 2016-2017 Budget. Mrs. Fuselier seconded the motion.

COOPERATIVE ENDEAVOR AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF ZACHARY AND THE ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL SYSTEM (ZYP MULTIPURPOSE RECREATIONAL FACILITY) CONTRACT
Mr. Dayton moved to approve the Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between the City of Zachary and ZCSB (ZYP Multipurpose Recreational Facility) one year contract. Contract will start July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017. Mr. Hughes seconded the motion. (See Attached)

Mr. Hughes moved to approve the Joint Agreement with the City of Zachary Student Resource Officers and Crossing Guards contract. Contract will start July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017. Mrs. Vessel seconded the motion (See Attached)
