ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

FEBRUARY 7, 2017

The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on February 7, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana.

The Invocation was led by Mr. Dayton.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mrs. Vessel.

ROLL CALL:  Mrs. Young, Mrs. Westmoreland, Mr. Hughes, Mrs. Grice, Mr. Owen, Mrs. Vessel, Mrs. Kimmell, Mrs. Watkins, and Mr. Dayton.  

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Mrs. Kimmell moved to approve the minutes for January 17, 2016 Work Session and Board Meeting and February 1, 2017 Special Board Meeting Minutes.  Mr. Hughes seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.

SWEARING IN SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER DISTRICT 2

Brandi Westmoreland was sworn in to serve on the Zachary Community School District representing District 2 by board attorney, Ricky McDavid.  The primary election is set for March 25, 2017 but no one else chose to run for School Board Member, District 2.

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT

 Mr. Devillier thanked everyone for coming and announced that four of Mrs. Lowerly’s Z-Star students are present tonight.  This program trains students who aspire to become teachers and they are present to learn more about the school board. Mr. Devillier announced upcoming dates.             (See Attached)

2015-2016 ANNUAL AUDIT

Ms. Tiffani Dorsa presented the 2015-2016 Annual Audit Report to the board.  She told the board that the Zachary Community School Board was in good financial shape.  Mr. Devillier thanked Mr. Musso, Mrs. Williams, and the board members for all of their hard work that they do to keep our school district in such good financial shape.             (See Attached)

2017 BOARD COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS

Mr. Dayton moved to table the 2017 Board Committee Assignments until the March 7, 2017 board meeting. Mrs. Kimmell seconded the motion.

SUPERINTENDENT 2016 INDICATOR REPORT

Mrs. Kimmell moved that the board accept the Superintendent 2016 Indicator Report as presented by Yolanda Williams, John Musso, and Ada Karin Lawless.  Mr. Hughes seconded the motion.   (See Attached)
