ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

April 17, 2018

The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on April 17, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana.

The Invocation was led by Mrs. Young.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Owen.

ROLL CALL:  Mr. Hughes, Mrs. Young, Mrs. Grice, Mr. Owen, Mrs. Vessel, Mrs. Watkins, and Mr. Dayton.    2 ABSENT   (Mrs. Westmoreland and Mrs. Kimmell)

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Mrs. Young moved to approve the minutes for March 6, 2018 Work Session and Board Meeting, March 19, 2018 Finance/Operations Committee Meeting, March 22, 2018 Committee of the Whole Meeting and April 10, 2018 Committee of the Whole Meeting.  Mrs. Watkins seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.

VOTE:    7 YEAS    0 NAYS   2 ABSENT

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT

Mr. Devillier thanked everyone for attending and commended those in attendance who were being recognized for their accomplishments.  Mr. Devillier went over upcoming dates.  (See Attached)

RECOGNITION OF STUDENTS OF THE YEAR

The board recognized Students of the Year:

Zachary Early Learning Center – Collier Rhodes

Northwestern Elementary School – Hamlin Hess

Rollins Place Elementary School – Roma Thomas

Zachary Elementary School – Chole’ Wedblad

Copper Mill Elementary School – Gracie Landreneau

Northwestern Middle School – Jabari Johnson

Zachary High School – Olivia Hurst

The board presented each student with a plaque.

SCHOOL FOOD SERVICE MEAL PRICES

Mr. Dayton moved to approve the School Food Service Meal Prices for the 2018-2019 School Year.  Mr. Owen seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.
