ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES
June 19, 2018
The Zachary Community School Board held a Public Hearing on the 2018-2019 Budget, on June 19, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the school board office at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana.
Mr. Devillier recommended that the board adopt the 2018-2019 Budget.
There was no public comment.
Mr. Hughes made a motion to adjourn. Mrs. Westmoreland seconded the motion. The Public Hearing Meeting was closed at 7:01 p.m.
The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on June 19, 2018 at 7:01 p.m. at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mrs. Kimmell moved to approve the minutes for May 1, 2018 Finance Committee Meeting, Work Session and Board Meeting, May 24, 2018 Committee of the Whole Meeting and June 12, 2018 Finance Committee Meeting. Mrs. Westmoreland seconded the motion.

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT
Mr. Devillier announced that all school offices will be closed Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in observance of Independence Day.
RECOGNITION OF PARENT & STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES
Certificates were awarded to Amanda Ackman, Rose Barfield and Felicia Young for their participation as Parent Representatives of the Zachary Community School Board. Kamryn Stewart was also awarded a certificate for her participation as Student Representative. The board thanked them for their dedication and support. Student Representatives recognized, but not in attendance were Kristina Brooks, Olivia Hurst, Camryn Cannon, Madeline Beasley, Hailey Fisher, Dalton Irvan, Reagan Rispone and Caroline Fontenot. Parent Representatives recognized, but not in attendance were Brittany Bausch, Tommy Davidson and Jacqueline Wilson.
RECOGNITION OF SUPPORT WORKER OF THE YEAR – MAIN OFFICE
Mrs. Juanita Kidd was recognized as the main office support worker of the year.
JOINT AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF ZACHARY SRO AND CROSSING GUARDS CONTRACT
Mr. Dayton moved to table the Joint Agreement with the City of Zachary Student Resource Officers and Crossing Guards contract. Mrs. Watkins seconded the motion. The contracts will be on the agenda at the July 17, 2018 board meeting.

2018-2019 DELI SANDWICH BID
Mr. Owen moved to grant permission to award the 2018-2019 Deli Sandwich Bid. Mrs. Westmoreland seconded the motion.

STUDENT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES HANDBOOK
Mrs. Westmoreland moved to approve the 2018-19 Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook with the revisions discussed at the work session tonight. Mrs. Vessel seconded the motion.

AUDIT ENGAGEMENT FOR 2017-2018
Mr. Kimmell moved to approve the 2017-2018 Audit Engagement for $90,000 with Postlethwaite & Netterville as the company who will complete the District’s audit and grant the Superintendent permission to sign. Mr. Dayton second the motion. (See Attached)

Mrs. Westmoreland moved to adopt the Louisiana Compliance Questionnaire. Mrs. Kimmell second the motion.

Mrs. Westmoreland moved to approve the 2017-2018 Budget Revision. Mrs. Kimmell seconded the motion (See Attached)

CONTRACTS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL AT ZACHARY ELEMENTARY AND PERSONNEL SUPERVISOR
Mrs. Westmoreland moved to approve the Contracts of Employment for Assistant Principal at Zachary Elementary and Personnel Supervisor at the School Board Office. Mrs. Vessel seconded the motion.

Mrs. Watkins moved to approve the following policies: File: BC – School Board Meeting, File: GBRIBA – Family and Medical Leave, File: JCAB – Student Searches, File: JGC – Student Health Services and File: DJA – Authorized Signatures. Mr. Owen seconded the motion.
