ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

AUGUST 7, 2018

The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on August 7, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana.

The Invocation was led by Mrs. Westmoreland.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Owen.

ROLL CALL: Mr. Hughes, Mrs. Westmoreland, Mrs. Grice, Mr. Owen, Mrs. Kimmell, Mrs. Watkins.

   3 ABSENT (Mrs. Young, Mrs. Vessel, & Mr. Dayton)

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

 Mrs. Kimmell moved to approve the minutes for the July 17, 2018 Work Session and Board Meeting and the July 31, 2018 Parental & Community Involvement Committee Meeting.  Mr.  Owen seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.

VOTE: 6 YEAS    0 NAYS     3 ABSENT

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT

Mr. Devillier announced that the first day of school will be this Thursday, August 9, 2018.

Mr. Devillier announced upcoming dates.

2019 BOARD COMMITTEE PARENT AND STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES

Mrs. Westmoreland moved to approve all Parent and student applicants as Representatives of the Parental & Community Involvement Committee. Mrs. Kimmell seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.

VOTE:   6 YEAS   0 YEAS   3 ABSENT

ADOPT THE MILLAGE RATE FOR 2018 PROPERTY TAXES

Mr. Musso read the Millage Rate Resolution for the 2018 Property Taxes.

Mrs. Watkins moved to adopt the Resolution on the Millage Rates as read.  Mr. Owen seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.

3 ABSENT – Mrs. Young, Mrs. Vessel, Mr. Dayton

UNINSURED-UNDER INSURED MOTORIST BODILY INJURY RESOLUTION

Mrs. Westmoreland moved to reject the Uninsured-Under Insured Motorist Bodily Injury Insurance.  Mrs. Grice seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.

VOTE:    6 YEAS   0 NAYS   3 ABSENT

COMMITTEE REPORTS –  Mr. Owen reported that the Finance Committee met today at 5:00 p.m. and Mr. Musso reviewed the Monthly Financial Reports.
