ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

JANUARY 7, 2020

The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on January 7, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana.

ROLL CALL: Mrs. Vessel, Mrs. Young, Mrs. Westmoreland, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Mackie, Mr. Owen,  Mrs. Watkins, Mr. Dayton.      1 ABSENT -   Mrs. Kimmell                                      

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Mr. Mackie moved to approve the minutes for the December 3, 2019 Work Session and Board Meeting and December 18, 2019 Committee of the Whole Committee.  Mrs. Young seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.

VOTE:     8 YEAS    0 NAYS    1 ABSENT

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT

Mr. Devillier announced that the Zachary Food Pantry is with us tonight so the Zachary Community School Board Members can present them with a $500.00 check from their Courtesy Account.  Mrs. Vessel and Mrs. Westmoreland presented the check.

Mr. Devillier announced upcoming dates.  (See Attached)

PERMISSION FOR SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS TO TRAVEL OUT OF STATE

Mr. Owen moved to give permission for School Board Members Gaynell Young & Heidi Vessel to travel out of state to the NSBA/Annual Conference in Chicago, Illinois, April 4-6, 2020.  Mr. Dayton seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.

VOTE:  8 YEAS   0 NAYS   1 ABSENT

BOARD COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS

Mr. Owen moved to approve the 2020 Board Committee Assignments with the change to remove Mr. Hughes from the Executive Committee and add Brandy Westmoreland.  Mrs. Westmoreland seconded the motion.

VOTE:   8 YEAS  0 NAYS   1 ABSENT

2019 SUPERINTENDENT INDICATORS

Mrs. Westmoreland moved to accept the report of the 2019 Superintendent Indicators.  Mrs. Watkins seconded the motion.
