ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

JANUARY 25, 2022

The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on January 25, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at the Zachary Community School Board Office, 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana.

The Invocation was led by Mrs. Kimmell.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Dayton.

ROLL CALL: Mr. Hughes, Mrs. Young, Mrs. Westmoreland, Mr. Mackie, Mr. Owen, Dr. Lathon, Mrs. Kimmell, Mrs. Watkins, Mr. Dayton.  

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Mr. Mackie moved to approve the minutes for the December 7, 2021 Resources Committee Meeting, Work Session and Board Meeting. Mrs. Westmoreland seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.

RECOGNITION OF ZHS DRAMA DEPARTMENT

The board recognized the ZHS Drama Department for their performance in the Texas Thespian Festival.  The board thanked the ZHS Drama Department and presented certificates to the following students: Caroline Cresap, Kaleigh Loque, Joey Fields, Ja’myrea Foreman, Ryan McClure, Breannan Bankston, Courtney Anderson, Ethan Stagg, Andon Mounts, Kenny Collins, Kassidy Hall, Lillian Stalder, Amy O’Brein, Andre’a Condol, Camilla Howell, D’Merik Carney, Emily Montalbano, Deborah Kleinpeter, Grace Kimble, John Browning, Sophia Hogan. The board thanked Mrs. Witcher and Mrs. Masterson for the amazing job that they are doing.

RECOGNITION OF 2021 LHSAA 5A FOOTBALL STATE CHAMPIONS

The board recognized the 2021 Class 5A Football State Champions.  The board presented certificates to the following players: Carlton Johnson, Connor Wisham, Emaui Sibley, Charles Robertson, Eli Holstein.

RECOGNITION OF LSWA CLASS 5A ALL-STATE

The board recognized the LSWA Class 5A All-State and presented certificates to the following:

Coach Brewerton – LSWA Coach of the Year, Football Players - Eli Holstein – LSWA Outstanding Offensive Player & LSWA 1^st Team All State, Charles Robertson – LSWA 1^st Team All-State, Kameron Hamilton – LSWA 1^st Team All State, Kylin Jackson – LSWA 1^st Team All-State, Riley Howard – LSWA Honorable Mention All-State, Connor Wisham – LSWA Honorable Mention All-State.

2020-2021 ANNUAL AUDIT REPORT

Amanda Strebeck of Postlethwaite & Netterville, Inc. presented the 2020-2021 Audit Report.  Mrs. Strebeck reported that the Zachary Community School Board was in excellent financial and business shape.

Mrs. Kimmell moved to accept the 2020-2021 Annual Audit Report.  Mr. Dayton seconded the motion.

VOTE:  9 YEAS   0 NAYS  0 ABSENT

2022 BOARD COMMITTEES

Mr. Dayton moved to approve the 2022 Board Committees.  Mrs. Young seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Mr. Owen reported that the Resource Committee met tonight.  (See Attached)  

Committee of the Whole will meet on February 10, 2022 at 6:00pm.

Date for Resource Committee will meet on February 1, 2022 at 5:30pm.
