ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on April 5, 2022 at 7:00pm, at the Zachary Community School Board Office, 3755 Church Street, Zachary, La.  70791.

Invocation – Mrs. Watkins

ROLL CALL: Mr. Hughes, Mrs. Westmoreland, Mr. Owen, Dr. Lathon, Mrs. Kimmell, Mrs. Watkins, Mr. Dayton.  2 ABSENT - Mr. Mackie - Mrs. Young    

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Mrs. Westmoreland moved to approve the minutes for March 15, 2022 Resources Committee, Work Session, Board Meeting, and March 24, 2022 Committee of the Whole.   Dr. Lathon  seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.

VOTE:     7 YEAS    0 NAYS    2 ABSENT

RECOGNITION OF STUDENT OF THE YEAR

The board presented plaques and cookie cakes to the following Students of the Year:  Zachary Early Learning Center – Joshua Best, Northwestern Elementary – Dallas Greggs, Rollins Place Elementary – Kai Williams, Zachary Elementary – Isabella Reeves, Copper Mill – Sarah Fannin, Northwestern Middle – Jake Curry, Zachary High School – Caroline Cresap.

RECOGNITION OF WINNERS OF THE DEMCO YOUTH TOUR ESSAY CONTEST

The board presented certificates to the DEMCO Youth Tour Essay Contest Winners:

Victor Costa, Kennedy Hughes

2022-2023 OFFICAL JOURNAL

Mrs. Kimmell moved to approve The Advocate as our 2022-2023 Official Journal.  Mrs. Westmoreland seconded the motion.    (See Attached)

SALARY SCHEDULE

Mr. Dayton moved to approve the Salary Schedule.  Mrs. Watkins seconded the motion.
