ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

August 2,2022 Board Meeting

The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on August 2, 2022 at 7:00 pm at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana, 70791.

The Invocation was led by Mrs. Kimmell.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Dayton.

Board Members Present:  Mrs. Young, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Owen, Dr. Lathon, Mrs. Kimmell, Mrs. Watkins, Mr. Dayton         ABSENT: 2   Mrs. Westmoreland, Mr. Mackie

AMEND THE AGENDA

Mr. Dayton moved to amend the agenda to add agenda Item # 7-O – Bids and Quotations Policy.

Mrs. Kimmell seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.

ROLL CALL VOTE: 7 YEAS – Mr. Hughes, Mrs. Young, Mr. Owen, Dr. Lathon, Mrs. Kimmell, Mrs. Watkins, Mr. Dayton.   0 NAYS  2 ABSENT

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Mrs.  Kimmell moved to approve the minutes for the July 19, 2022 Resources, Work Session and Board Meeting.  Dr. Lathon seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.

VOTE:    7 YEAS   0 NAYS   2 ABSENT

RECOGNITION OF CATHERINE YOUNG

The board presented Catherine Young with a certificate for being selected as the State of LA. School Nutrition Program Food Manager of the month.

POLICIES

Mrs. Kimmell moved to approve the following policies:

File BH – School Board Ethics, File: EDD – School Bus Scheduling and Routing, File: GAAA – Equal Opportunity Employment, File: GAMB – Employee Dress Code, File: JAA – Equal Education Opportunities, File: JBD – Student Absences and Excuses, File: JCDAF  Bullying and Hazing, File: JCDAB – Student Dress Code, File: JD – Discipline, File: JDE – Expulsion, File: JGC – Student Health Services, File: JGCD – Administration of Medication, File: JM – Student Voter Registration, File: JQE Expectant and Parenting Students and File: DJED – Bids and Quotations.  Mrs. Watkins seconded the motion.

COMMITTEE REPORTS – Resources Committee met at 5:30pm this afternoon.  (See Attached)
