ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

October 4, 2022 Board Meeting

The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on October 4, 2022 at 7:00 pm at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana, 70791.

The Invocation was led by Mrs. Young

The Pledge of Allegiance was led Mrs. Watkins

Board Members Present:  Mr. Hughes, Mrs. Young, Mrs. Westmoreland, Mr. Mackie, Mr. Owen, Mrs. Kimmell, Mrs. Watkins       ABSENT: 2 – Dr. Lathon, Mr. Dayton

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Mrs. Kimmell moved to approve the minutes for the September 6, 2022 Work Session, Board Meeting and September 27, 2022 Executive Committee Meeting. Mrs. Watkins seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.

VOTE:     YEAS   0 NAYS    ABSENT

RECOGNITION OF LUKE PARKS – CREATOR OF ROYAL TREATS

The board recognized Luke Parks and presented him with a certificate.

RECOGNITION OF HOPE DEWALD – ZACHARY ELEMENTARY P.E. TEACHER

The board recognized Hope Dewald and presented her with a certificate.

UPDATE ON PORT HUDSON CAMPUS

Mr. Devillier and Mr. Burke gave an update on the happenings at the Port Hudson campus.

Mr. Devillier reported that open house will be on October 13, 2022 at 6:00 PM.  Everyone is invited to attend.

2022-2023 PUPIL PROGRESSION PLAN

Mrs. Kimmell moved to approve the 2022-2023 Pupil Progression Plan.  Mrs. Westmoreland seconded the motion.

SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

Mrs. Westmoreland moved to approve the File: EFAA – Employee Use of Social Media Policy with the correction to substitute Zachary Community School Board to Zachary Community School District. Mr. Mackie seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.

VOTE:  7 YEAS   0 NAYS   2 ABSENT

MOVING DECEMBER 6, 2022 BOARD MEETING TO DECEMBER 13, 2022

Mrs. Westmoreland moved to change the December 6, 2022 Board Meeting to December 13, 2022.  Mrs. Kimmell seconded the motion.

There was no public comment.

VOTE:   7 YEAS    0 NAYS  2 ABSENT
