ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

January 17, 2023

The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on January 17, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana.

The Invocation was led by Dr. Lathon.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Dayton.

SWEARING IN SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS

School Board Members were sworn in by Ricky McDavid, Board Attorney.  They are:  

Mrs. Young, Mr. Talbot, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Mackie, Mrs. Freeman, Dr. Lathon, Mr. Gaines, Dr. London, Mr. Dayton

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Mr. Mackie moved to approve the minutes for the December 13, 2022 Resources Committee, Work Session and Board Meeting   Dr. Lathon seconded the motion.

RECOGNITION OF RETIREE

The board recognized Tara Allenman and presented her with a plaque.

GP INDUSTRIAL TAX EXEMPTION

Mrs. Young moved to accept the GP Industrial Tax Exemption.  Mr. Dayton seconded the motion.

Mr. Dayton moved to change the board meeting date from March 7, 2023 to March 21, 2023.

Mr. Mackie seconded the motion.

2022-2023 PUPIL PROGRESSION ADDENDUM

Mrs. Young moved to approve the 2022-2023 Pupil Progression Addendum.  Mr. Gaines  seconded the motion.

ELECTION OF SCHOOL BOARD OFFICERS

Mr. Hughes nominated Mr. Dayton as president.  Mrs.  Freeman seconded the motion.
