The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on October 1, 2024 at 7:00 pm at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana, 70791.

 

The Invocation was led by Dr. Young.

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Dr. London

 

Board Members Present: Dr. Lathon, Dr. Young, Mr. Talbot, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Mackie, Mrs. Freeman, Mr. Gaines, Dr. London, Mr. Dayton

 

SUPERINTENDENT UPDATE

Mr. Necaise gave the Superintendent’s Update and informed the Board of upcoming dates for district functions.

 

DISTRICT UPDATE

Mr. Necaise gave the board an update on School and Campus Safety.

Ashley Fudge from Port Hudson Academy gave the board a power point update on Port Hudson.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Mr. Mackie moved to approve the minutes for September 3, 2024 Resources Committee Meeting, Work Session and Board Meeting and September 18, 2024 Policy Committee Meeting. Mr. Dayton seconded the motion.

2025 BOARD MEETING DATES

Mrs. Freeman moved to approve the 2025 Board Meeting Dates. Mr. Talbot seconded the motion.

UPDATE 1ST AND 2ND GRADE REPORT CARDS AND PUPIL PROGRESSION REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTAIN SPED CLASSROOMS IN THE ZCSD PUPIL PROGRESSION PLAN FOR 2024-2025

Dr. London moved to Update 1st and 2nd Grade Report Cards and Pupil Progression Requirements for certain SPED Classrooms in the Zachary Community School District Pupil Progression Plan for 2024-2025. Mr. Mackie seconded the motion.

REVISED 2024-2025 SALARY SCHEDULE

Dr. Young moved to revised the 2024-2025 Salary Schedule. Mr. Dayton seconded the motion.

LOCAL EVALUATION PLAN FOR 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR

Mrs. Freeman moved to approve the Local Evaluation Plan for the 2024-2025 School Year. Mr. Hughes seconded the motion.

PERMISSION TO ADVERTISE FOR PUBLIC BIDS TO RESURFACE THE ZHS TRACK

Mr. Hughes moved to advertise for Public Bids to resurface the ZHS Track. Mr. Mackie seconded the motion.

DISCUSSION OF CNP FOOD CONTRACTS

Mr. Necaise and Mr. Musso discussed with the board the CNP Contracts.
