ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES
April 1, 2025
The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on April 1, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana.
The Invocation was led by Mr. Gaines.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mrs. Freeman.
ROLL CALL: Mr. Hughes, Mr. Mackie, Mrs. Freeman, Dr. Lathon, Mr. Gaines, Mr. Dayton 2 ABSENT – Dr. London – Mr. Talbot - Mr. Mackie is Teleconfrence. Dr. London arrived at 7:20 pm.
SWEARING IN DISTRICT 1 BOARD MEMBER – DR. TRACEY TAYLOR JARRELL
Dr. Tracey Taylor Jarrell was sworn in by Attorney Andrew Barr.
Dr. Tracey Taylor Jarrell will be counted now.
SUPERINTENDENT UPDATE
Mr. Necaise gave his Superintendent’s Update and informed the Board of upcoming dates for district functions.
RECOGNITION OF STUDENT OF THE YEAR
The board recognized the Student of the Year Students and presenting each one with a plaque and a cookie cake.

Dr. London arrived at 7:20 p.m.
RECOGNITION OF ALL STATE HONOR BAND STUDENTS
The board recognized the following students: Ricky Wells - All State Symphonic Band, Lella Alexander - All State Jazz Ensemble, Reed Clouatre - All State Jazz Ensemble, Alex Elsey - All State Jazz Ensemble, Ryan Venable - All State Jazz Ensemble.
RECOGNITION OF DONNY ALEXANDER – 2025 OUTSTANDING JAZZ EDUCATIORS FROM THE LOUISIANA ASSOCIATION FOR JAZZ EDUCATION
The board recognized Donny Alexander for being selected as the 2025 Outstanding Jazz Educators Award.
RECOGNITION OF LOUISIANA ARMY JROTC STATE CHAMPIONS – UNARMED DRILL TEAM
The board recognized the following students: Eljee Beldad, Niyah Butler, Journi Davis, Anabel Disanbro,Jamea Dunbar, Precious Ealey, Brealle Fields, Trinity Gremillion, Aniyah Jackson, Teirani Jarvis, Termaria Johnson, Kasharon Jones, Carrington Seals, Miracle Victorin, Lauren Washington, Bailie Williams, Bre’Yonna Williams
RECOGNITION OF LOUISIANA ARMY JROTC AND ALL-SERVICE STATE CHAMPIONS – ARMED DRILL TEAM
The board recognized the following students: Sanai Barlow, Jayden Daniels, Riana Delarca, Adon Dunaway, Micah Gaines, Zane Hollinquest, Alashia Hollins, Kailyn Jefferson, Braylon Johnson, Rylee Louque, Devin Mallet, Paul Patrick, Janine Royal, Samantha Straub, Rickey Washington, Jamie White.
Also the board recognized 2 Instructors: Darren Spears-SAI and Arenteanis Adams – AI
RECOGNITION OF AMARA NWABUEZE – 2025 DEMCO WINNER
The board recognized Amara Nwabueze as the 2025 DEMCO Winner of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Annual Tour to Washington, D.C.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Dr. London moved to approve the minutes for the March 18, 2025 Resources Committee Meeting, Work Session and Board Meeting. Mr. Hughes seconded the motion.

Mr. Dayton moved to approve the Policy File: JCDAE – Electronic Telecommunication Devices.

MIS TECHNOLOGY CONTRACT
Dr. London moved to approve the MIS Technology Contract and the MIS Technology Master Service Agreement. Mr. Dayton seconded the motion.
